Timber Industries
The wood lot at 2133 S. Walnut Avenue, otherwise known as Timber Industries, is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to the public. The following is accepted at drop-off:

Branches without leaves 4 inches or larger in diameter, chipped up woody debris.
The lot does NOT accept the following:
- Grass clippings, piles of leaves (bagged and unbagged), soil, and rocks, branches smaller than 4 inches in diameter.
- Freeport residents only.
- Residents must first stop at the office and check in.
- Open Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- No contractors. Contractors caught dumping will be fined.
- Woody debris only. Under 4 inches in diameter only. No leaves, yard waste, garden waste, trash, or flowers.
- Everything must be inside the gate.
The 1st Saturday of each month, residents who live within the city limits of Freeport can bring trash and bulk items to the Freeport Transfer Station located at 2133 S. Walnut Road from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m.
ID’s are required for verification of residency. Accepted items do NOT include yard waste of any kind, tires, hazardous waste such as paint and oils, TVs, computers, or other electronics.
City officials urge residents to take advantage of these FREE events in order to eliminate illegal dumping within the City. Events for the collection of the disallowed items will be organized later in the year. The City thanks the partnership of Gill’s Freeport Disposal for this landmark initiative.
Gill’s Freeport Disposal asks all residents to put tarps over the loads they transport to the Transfer Station for litter control purposes. Those loads that are not covered with tarps may not be accepted.
