June 10, 2026:

“To continue our growth and partnership with our community residents and business leaders and to include the broader aspect of technology, Neighborhood Watch Meetings will be held at the Freeport Public Library starting in August 2026. Meetings will be held in their original location in June. However, there will be no meetings held in July. Starting in August, each Ward will still meet on their normal scheduled day, now at the Library. This allows our new Community Lieutenant to meet the community residents, demonstrates the enhanced public information we will be sharing through power point presentations, restructures the FPD’s information/services to the public, and allows for the community to be gathered in a familiar civic environment.”

We will obey and support the letter and spirit of the law. We will exercise integrity in the use of power and authority given to us by the people. Our personal and professional behavior should be a model for all to follow. We always do the right thing, the lawful act, regardless of whether anyone is watching.

Beat meetings are open to everyone including homeowners, renters, business owners, community leaders, and youth.

Whether you have a specific concern or simply want to stay informed Freeport Police Community Beat Meetings offer valuable insight into public safety efforts and community priorities.

What to Expect When You Attend

Meetings typically begin with introductions followed by updates from police officers and a possible special guest speaker. Residents are then invited to ask questions, share concerns and suggest ideas.

The environment is meant to be respectful and constructive, making Freeport Police Community Beat Meetings welcoming for all attendees.

To ensure a safe, respectful, and productive environment, all participants are expected to engage courteously. If the meeting becomes disruptive or disrespectful, it will be concluded. The meeting may be rescheduled for a later date when constructive dialogue can occur.
