Notice of Election

Elections will be held to nominate candidates for the following offices:
· Ward 1 Alderman (4-year term ending May 2023)
· Ward 3 Alderman (4-year term ending May 2023)
· Ward 4 Alderman (Remainder of 4-year term ending May 2021)
· Ward 5 Alderman (4-year term ending May 2023)
· Ward 7 Alderman (4-year term ending May 2023)
· Alderman at Large (4-year term ending May 2023)

The election will be held on the following dates:
· Consolidated Primary will be held on February 26, 2019
· Consolidated Election will be held on April 2, 2019

Candidates’ nomination papers for Established Political Parties will be accepted in the City Clerk’s office at 314 W. Stephenson St., Suite 200, Freeport, Illinois, during customary City Hall business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) beginning Monday, November 19, 2018, through Monday, November 26, 2018. The office of the City Clerk and all of City Hall is closed on weekends and will also be closed on Thursday, November 22, 2018, and Friday, November 23, 2018.

The last day to file objections to nomination papers of Established Political Parties is Monday, December 3, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. in the office of the City Clerk.

Candidates’ nomination papers for Independent and New Political Parties will be accepted in the City Clerk’s office at 314 W. Stephenson St., Suite 200, Freeport, Illinois, during customary City Hall business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) beginning Monday, December 10, 2018, through Monday, December 17, 2018.

The office of the City Clerk and all of City Hall is closed on weekends and will also be closed on Monday, December 24, 2018, and Tuesday, December 25, 2018.
The last day to file objections to nomination papers of Independent and New Political Parties is Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. in the office of the City Clerk.
