MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide the Citizens of Freeport with a skilled and professional Fire Department; to save lives and protect property; to lessen the impact of fire, medical emergencies, and catastrophic events. Our mission is achieved through fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency medical service, hazardous materials response, technical rescue response, public education, and fire investigation.

The Freeport Fire Department currently employs 48 highly trained professionals located in three strategically located fire stations throughout the City of Freeport. The Department currently maintains an ISO Public Protection Classification
of 3.

DID YOU KNOW?

Freeport Firefighters respond to an average of 1,300 fire alarms and 2,300 emergency medical calls per year. Fire alarms consist of fires in buildings, fires in vehicles, open burning, false alarms, auto extrication, and medical assists. Emergency medical calls vary but may include cardiac emergencies, asthma, diabetic emergencies and traumatic injuries.
