Mortgage Foreclosure Notices
Pursuant to 735 ILCS 5/15-1503 and 735 ILCS 5/15-1508, Notices of Foreclosure for residential real estate mortgages on property located within the corporate limits of the City of Freeport, Illinois shall be sent to the following address:

Duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain custody and control of the city’s official records,
ensure that documents are recorded, filed, and archived properly
- Keeper of the corporate seal
- Prepare council agenda packets; including finalizing agendas, distributing the packets, and programming the agenda on the website
- Attend meetings of the council and keep a record of their
proceedings in the form of minutes
- Perform follow-up activities
resulting from council meetings, including ensuring that ordinances
or resolutions are properly signed and, if necessary, published
- Maintain and update the city’s website
- Administer oath of office for all city officials
- Serve as the city’s election official; coordinating all aspects
of the city’s elections and interfacing closely with the Stephenson
County Clerk
- Perform duties of the Freedom of Information Act officer and ensure compliance with the
Act
- Prepare and maintain departmental budget
- Provide Notary Public services for residents, staff, and the general
public
- Attest the signature of the Mayor on the appropriate documents
- Receive and archive bid documents
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or
level
