Community Development Director – Shelly Griswold

Appointed – 2005 & 2009

Prior to her time as Director, she served on Freeport’s City Council as the 5th Ward Alderwoman. She brings professional experience in strategic planning, program development, marketing and public relations to her position with the City.

As Community Development Director, Ms. Griswold

• is the City’s Building Commissioner and Zoning Administrator
• coordinates neighborhood redevelopment activities
• oversees the City’s waste management operations including operation of the City’s Landfill and Waste Transfer station
• administers the City’s public transportation programs
