Corporation Counsel– Sarah M. Griffin

Sarah M. Griffin was originally appointed on February 17, 1999, by then Mayor James L. Gitz. She was reappointed on May 2, 2005 by Mayor George W. Gaulrapp. Her current
term expires 4/30/2009.

Griffin is a graduate of Freeport High School (Freeport, Illinois). She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She remained in San Antonio to attend St. Mary’s University, receiving her Juris Doctorate and her Texas law license in 1989.

Griffin practiced municipal law for ten years in Texas, prior to her appointment in Freeport. She has been licensed to practice law in Illinois since 1999.
