City Council Member - Shawn
Boldt, Alderman-at-Large
Term ending in 2011
Freeport has been my home for 8 years.
I am a native of Nebraska, and twice I have been transferred to Freeport,
with two different companies. The first time was upon graduation from
the University of Nebraska in 1988, when I quickly fell in love with the
community. The second time was in 1997, when I quickly fell in love with
my future wife and knew this was the place to call home. I was soon married
to Kimberly Rohr, who is a life long resident of Freeport. We have been
married 5 years, and we have two children; Hannah who is 4, and Brennen
who is 2. My family and I belong to Immanuel Lutheran Church, where I have been a substitute Sunday School teacher and have participated in an annual Passion Week drama. I have served on the board of Directors for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Stephenson County CVB, The NICAA Board of Directors, and have been a volunteer for the Jane Addams Festival of Trees fundraiser. The residents of the 6th Ward have elected me to serve them twice, and I am working hard to be their voice in all City affairs. In November of 2005, I was appointed to the Alderman-at-Large seat. In this position, I will serve all seven wards. As a District Sales Manager for SYSCO foods I have the opportunity to stay in touch with large numbers of the Freeport business community, as well as it's residents, and I thoroughly enjoy the constant stream of input and ideas I receive to help better the community. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the residents of the City
of Freeport. I encourage anyone with a concern, question, or quandary
to contact me.
