I was born and raised in Chicago, Il., but moved to Freeport in 1970. I attended Northern Illinois University, graduating with a BS degree with a major in nursing.

I worked for 30 years for FHN in a variety of roles, including Practice Director, and I spent 3 years with the Northern Illinois Health Plan before going to work at Highland Women’s Care.

Before being elected to City Council, I served 4 years as a Freeport Township Trustee.

I have been a volunteer on many community committees over the past 35 years, including Healthy Communities 21 st Century. I am a member of Faith United Methodist Church and a graduate of the Leadership Institute.

I see my role as alderman as an extension of the years I was a patient advocate during my nursing career.
